Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll (born February 2, 1977), known professionally as Shakira, is a Colombian singer, songwriter, dancer, producer, and philanthropist.
Her breakthrough came with her fourth album, Dónde Están Los Ladrones. (1998), and its eponymous lead single, which topped many charts worldwide.
Shakira‘s success was solidified with her fifth and sixth albums Fijación Oral, Vol. 1 and Oral Fixation, She entered the English–language market with her eighth album, Laundry Service.
