Ed Asner is an American actor best known for his work on the television series The Mary Tyler Moore Show. Asner has appeared in numerous film and television roles over the course of his career but is perhaps most recognizable for his portrayal of gruff newsman Lou Grant on The Mary Tyler Moore Show.
