In January 2022, Netflix revealed that the Enola Holmes 2 has fully wrapped filming, providing short behind-the-scenes footage showing Louis Partridge concluding his sequences.
Following discussion over whether his plot would continue, the footage uploaded on Twitter in January 2022 indicates that young investigator Enola’s love interest Tewkesbury (played by Partridge), will officially return for the film.

As Enola Holmes, Millie Bobby Brown makes a comeback, and she has stated that the series is the “most crucial moment in my career thus far” because she developed it.
It has already been revealed that Henry Cavill will play Sherlock Holmes once more. There hasn’t been any word about Sam Claflin playing Mycroft Holmes again. So unless they’re just keeping it a secret, it seems doubtful that he’s back.

Sharon Duncan-Brewster, David Thewlis, Hannah Dodd, Abbie Hern, Gabriel Tierney, and Serrana Su-Ling Bliss are the newcomers in the sequel.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Thewlis plays a crooked officer, while Duncan-Brewster plays a mysterious guy with links to the crime that Enola is investigating. So far, that’s all we know about the new characters.

This seems like a plot similar to the second book in Nancy Springer’s Enola Holmes Mysteries, the film series based on the book series. The character Millie Bobby Brown plays in The Case of the Left-Handed Lady tries to find the missing Lady Cecily Alistair while avoiding Sherlock.
Although the sequel is unlikely to be exactly like the original, there seems to be a lot of influence. In her interview with Entertainment Weekly, Millie also provided some information regarding the setting of the movie: We opted to do so this time because we didn’t get to see as much of London’s hustle and action in the previous film, she stated. As a result, we got a close-up look at what this young girl is doing in the hectic metropolis around her.
