Is Daenerys Targaryen’s Emilia Clarke in House of the Dragon?

Emilia Clarke Updates: House of the Dragon is among the most anticipated shows of 2022, with fans eager to follow the Targaryen family’s saga. We also want to see dragons, a lot of dragons.

The upcoming Game of Thrones prequel series will be based on George R. R. Martin’s novel Fire and Blood. It was released in November 2018 and focuses on the history of House Targaryen.

Given that the book was released not long ago and that many people may not have read it yet, there are many unanswered questions about when this series takes place.

More importantly, people want to know if Emilia Clarke will be in it. I mean, it’s about the Targaryen’s, so there’s a chance, right?

Is Emilia Clarke going to appear in the Game of Thrones prequel series?

Unfortunately, no. As much as we’d like to see the mother of Dragons make an epic return, it’s not going to happen, and here’s why. The story takes place 200 years before Game of Thrones‘ events. It’s about the Dance of the Dragons, a Targaryen civil war involving many of Daenerys Targaryen’s ancestors but not Daenerys herself.

Dany could only appear if a character has a vision of the future. That isn’t unheard of among Targaryen’s, but the chances appear to be slim.

Emilia Clarke told Jimmy Fallon in 2019 that she didn’t actually know anything about House of the Dragon, but she did indicate that the cast has a WhatsApp group where they discuss the show. Can we join that group?

Back then, Fallon asked Clarke if she wanted to make a cameo appearance in the series. Her reaction? “I’m not sure what else I’m going to do.” Perhaps there is still hope.
