Cobra Kai Season 5 is all set to break some bones on Netflix.

When compared to other Netflix continuations, such as Lucifer and Money Heist, Cobra Kai has already established itself as one of the streaming service’s most popular and profitable offerings.

The show already had a sizable and devoted fan base from its time as a YouTube Red/Original series, but its popularity surged once it moved to Netflix. Here is everything we currently know about season 5, which is set to premiere in 2022.

According to Josh Heald, the writer’s room for season 5 gathered as early as July 2021. The 20th of September, 2021, was the first day of filming, and it lasted until the 19th of December, 2021.

The co-creators of Cobra Kai, Jon Hurwitz, and Josh Heald, announced on Twitter that they had finished the fifth season by posting a photo.

Atlanta, Georgia, served as the primary location for the show’s filming once more. On the other hand, this season will take us all over the world as we follow Miguel on his journey to Mexico in quest of his biological father. In the intervening time, Jon Hurwitz has verified that those episodes of season 5 were shot in Puerto Rico.

It has been revealed that episodes would be directed by both Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg during this season. Post-production then began, and in early March 2022, we received a Tweet from Zach Robinson, the show’s longtime composer, informing us that they were working hard to create the score for the fifth season.

Season 4 Recap

Cobra Kai Season 5
Netflix

We haven’t heard anything about that, and if you haven’t seen Season 4, there are spoilers below.  The fourth season comes to a thrilling conclusion with: The 51st All Valley Karate Championship was won by Cobra Kai, but it wasn’t just a competition—a contract was made that the losing dojo would close.

The plotlines have been set up for a new path in the story when combined with the fact that John Kreese is set up by Terry Silver and jailed at the conclusion of Season 4.

Danny LaRusso has vowed to beat Cobra Kai, while Miguel departs town at the end of Season 4 to search for his roots. As a result, Johnny and Robby travel to Mexico to look for Miguel.

What is certain is that Chozen seems to play a far larger role in the resistance against Terry Silver. We just don’t know how it will all turn out. There are new alliances, rekindled conflicts, and a lot of action to come.

How To Catchup On Cobra Kai?

The easiest way to enjoy Cobra Kai is to watch all of the Karate Kid movies first, as that gives the background for many of the relationships in Cobra Kai as well as the history of many of the characters, as we stated in our Season 4 guide.

It’s crucial to watch the original The Karate Kid since it sets the scene for Cobra Kai’s entire premise. If you want to see the first four seasons of a show online, Netflix has them all available for streaming.
