Marvel’s ‘WandaVision’, Pays Honor To Certain Sitcoms

WandaVision Updates: As from the trailers and interviews of the series it can be concluded that each episode of the Wanda-Vision coordinates to an authentic era of television. Marvel’s miniseries is utilizing ageless Television cliches, Realistic fate, and Significant Canned Laughter.

The series is an amazing fusion of Classic Cliches and Marvel Cinematic Universe(MCU), which is based on Marvel’s character Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch and Vision, two super-powered beings living glorified 50’s sitcom lives in suburban and started to suspect everything is not what it seems.

The miniseries is created by Jac Schaeffer, also serving as head writer, and is Produced by Marvel’s Studio. Starring Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany reappearing their respective roles as Wanda Maximoff and Vision from the movie series.

On being asked about the series representing certain sitcoms of the television era, the writer Schaeffer quoted, ‘they mainly focused on the family sitcoms over workplace sitcoms, as the family aspect kept the series very centered’. Schaeffer also stated that he studied past sitcoms to learn their ‘ trappings and styles’ .

Here is the list of sitcoms, WandaVision brilliantly pays honor to:

Dick Van Dyke Show:

Especially, the set of the series the way in which the kitchen is divided with a window that peeps into the dining area.  And even The Dick Van Dyke Show’s first episode had Rob’s boss invite him to a dinner party, and in the series, Vision is seen inviting his boss at dinner too.

I Dreamed of Jeannie:

Specifically used to showcase Wanda’s magic after-effect effortlessly, like objects hovering, invisible strings, speedy cutaways used for things to hastily appear or disappear.

The second episode of the series pays tribute to the ageless fancy sitcom ‘Bewitched’, the opening scene of the series playing a sequence in a similar fashion. And, as with so many Bewitched epilogues, the series second episode concludes with a crisp exchange and a kiss.
