I have watched so most of the Marvel movies and like most of the fans, I didn’t like any cast members dying. Still, some characters were supposed to die for the character’s development, so here we’ve listed the Top 10 Deaths in the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
We still cannot believe they are gone. The iconic Marvel superheroes have fought some of the universe’s most powerful villains, embarked on epic adventures, and created bonds that will last a lifetime.
However, the MCU has also created key moments that have had a lasting impact on us. This article features the most tragic deaths in Marvel movies.

Top 10 Deaths In Marvel (Marvel Cinematic Universe)!
Vision
While Vision had the form of a synthetic body and artificial intelligence, plus the Mind Stone, the latter kept him alive.
Until Thanos came, his life revolved around helping others while starting his relationship with renowned Avenger Wanda Maximoff. Knowing Thanos was after the Mind Stone for his plan to wipe off half of the universe, Vision urged Wanda to destroy it. She rejects it multiple times before finally agreeing with tears.
As Vision tells Wanda that he loves her, the Mind Stone & our hearts both break. The most tragic thing is that Thanos could return to time and get the stone. Although Vision’s sacrifice did not defeat Thanos, it will never be forgotten.
Frigga
Frigga, the Queen of Asgard & Odin’s wife, was Thor and Loki’s kind yet brave mother. Frigga, faithful to her commitment to his son, gave up her life at the hands of Malekith when she refused to reveal Jane’s location.
Frigga reappeared in Avengers: Endgame’s time heist, shortly before her awful death, letting Thor see and comfort his mother one final time as he fought with his failings against Thanos.
Gamora
When Gamora was a child, Thanos slaughtered half of her people while adopting her as his first daughter. As she openly despised him, he secretly began to love her.
So, when Thanos had to toss a loved one down a cliff to get the Soul Stone, he tragically selected Gamora.
Thanos overtakes her and tosses her down the edge despite her attempts to fight back. Her expression of shock and grief reflected precisely how the audience felt.
Gwen Stacy
The best part of the “Amazing Spider-Man” story was Peter Parker & Gwen Stacy’s strong bond. No matter what challenges tried to separate them, they always returned. Their love story comes to a tragic conclusion in the second film.
During the fight with the Green Goblin, Gwen tumbles from a clock tower. Peter immediately springs into action, aiming to catch her through his web. However, just as his web touches her, Gwen’s head strikes the ground.
Peter constantly tells her she’s OK before realizing it’s too late. The sight of Peter crying over Gwen’s body still haunts us.
T’Challa
In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, King T’Challa died of a secret disease he kept hidden from the world to protect them, just as T’Challa actor Chadwick Boseman kept his cancer struggles hidden.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever depicts T’Challa’s death as a mirror of actor Chadwick Boseman’s real-life death. Aside from being a touching tribute to Chadwick Boseman‘s legacy, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever featured T’Challa’s sister Shuri (Letitia Wright) as the next Black Panther of Wakanda.
Loki
After getting the Power Stone off the God of Mischief, the Angry Titan killed Loki by strangling him with nothing but his hands early in Avengers: Infinity War.
While this version of Loki was originally an MCU villain, following Thor: Ragnarok, he was on his way to complete redemption. Unfortunately for him, his past caught up to him before he made complete atonement.
In the Disney+ series, Loki, another version of the anti-hero, continues his journey in the MCU, although the original Loki’s awful end feels even more predestined.
Aunt May
Spider-Man: No Way Home showed the sudden and terrible death of Aunt May. Despite his greatest attempts, Spider-Man (Tom Holland) had no way to save Aunt May from Green Goblin’s bombs.
In what is possibly the best modern tribute to Spider-Man’s Marvel Comics origin, No Way Home creatively anticipated Aunt May’s death when, seconds earlier, she tells Peter, “With great power comes great responsibility.”
While Doctor Strange’s memory magic reset Peter Parker’s storyline in the MCU by making everyone who knew him forget him and sending him on a seemingly isolated road, Aunt May’s death marked the actual end of Spider-Man’s MCU original story.
Yondu
Yondu was depicted as a quasi-villain to Star-Lord/Peter Quill for most of his MCU story, but it was shown in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 that he cared for Peter Quill; he wasn’t very good at expressing feelings.
As it turns out, his choice to keep the little kid to himself was driven in part by his concern that his biological dad, Ego the Living Planet, might hurt him.
Yondu proved his affection for Peter by sacrificing his own life during the heroes’ fight with Ego to protect his foster son, probably the most touching scene in an otherwise funny MCU sub-franchise.
Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow
Five years after Thanos killed countless lives, the Avengers create a plot to resurrect the victims using Infinity Stones. Natasha and her best friend Clint decide to get the Soul Stone.
When they arrive, they discover they must let one of them fall to their death to get their stone. But they both were ready to sacrifice themselves. Clint and Natasha cannot let go of one other and fight about who will bear the sacrifice.
Natasha eventually overcomes Clint and tells him to let her go. He tries to hang on, but Natasha makes the greatest sacrifice. Our hearts dropped as she fell. Despite her death, Natasha’s soul lives on in the many lives she saved.
Tony Stark/Iron Man
As Earth struggled to deal with losing half its people to Thanos’ snap, Tony Stark built a pleasant life for his daughter, Morgan.
When Tony’s other Avengers call on him to help reverse the snap via time travel, he accepts on one condition: he cannot lose his little girl.
When the Avengers return from time carrying the Infinity Stones, Thanos chases them and tries to use the stones for another snap. However, Tony destroys the Mad Titan with the snap of his fingers.
Unfortunately, Tony’s event has irreversible damage to his body. Seeing a character we’ve loved for eleven years die and leave behind his friends and little daughter is almost too heartbreaking to express in words.
