Everyone’s Favorite Mutants Return in the ‘X-Men ’97!

Disney+ and Marvel Animation decided to put out the much-awaited trailer for the animated series X-Men ’97, and they used the opportunity to reveal when fans, particularly millennials, can get excited to see the sequel to the original X-Men animated series.

If you aren’t aware, the show is based on the X-Men: The Animated Series, which aired from 1992 to 1997. It featured Professor X, alias Charles Xavier, and his squad of X-Men, who were hellbent on rescuing a world that despised mutants. The program will serve as an update of the predecessor while still maintaining the original style.

Everyone’s Favorite Mutants Return in the Incredible First Trailer for ‘X-Men ’97’.

The recently revealed first look for X-Men ’97 showcases characters in 1990s-inspired clothing. The show is an animated take on the popular IP. The still accompanying the release date announcement shows Gambit, Rogue, Jubilee, Storm, Wolverine, Beast, Morph, & Bishop on the basketball court.

The first look has an air of the ’90s show while still having the sense of today’s world, indicating that it has something to give to the world and those who would watch the show on Disney+.

The trailer revealed a lot of crucial details about X-Men ’97. First and foremost, it was stated that the upcoming series would tie in closely with the events at the end of the previous series: Professor Charles Xavier died, and he left a task for his students.

They are charged with continuing to save humanity and fight wicked mutants despite society’s constant fight against them. And the Sentinels, who never worked in live-action films, have returned to target the X-Men.

Additionally, it appears that the climax of the new series will get out of hand rapidly because Magneto (Matthew Waterson) seems to have been listed in Xavier’s final will — or at least he found a way into it.

This implies that Xavier Mansion, plus the school for talented kids, may fall under his authority. Magneto’s views on non-mutants have historically been radically opposed to Charles’s; therefore, the friend-turned-enemy may begin recruiting for his school to fight humanity.
