This is because Taylor’s All Too Well didn’t make the final cut for the 15 contenders for Best Live Action Short Film.
This Wednesday, the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences declared their final list of nominees from a larger pool of nominations.
Even after the 33-year-old’s tremendous efforts to promote her music video’s 10-minute version, the Academy Awards didn’t recognize All Too Well to be valuable enough to stay in the run.
Although All Too Well has done tremendously in winning various awards for its brilliance this year, including the ‘Video of the Year Award at the MTV Video Music Awards and ‘The favorite Music Video Award at the American Music Awards. Maybe for the Oscars, it didn’t seem good enough to stay in the final 15.

Taylor Swift’s All Too Well Shortlist for Oscar 2023
One of the leading women in the English singing industry, Taylor Swift released her 15-minute long music video, All Too Well in November 2021. The video coincides with Swift’s Red re-recorded album.
The cherry on the top detail about All Too Well is that it is directed by Taylor herself. The music video casts Stranger Things star Sadie Sink and Teen Wolf‘s star Dylan O’Brien.
All Too Well’s music video explains a relationship that is not working properly. It is an extended version of the song that Taylor sang about previously.
The original music video of All Too Well was released way back in 2012. It was a part of Taylor Swift’s fourth studio album, Red. The next 10-minute storyline of the music video came a decade later with the re-recorded version of the whole album.
