Dragon Age: Absolution Release Date, Cast, Plot, and More

In collaboration with Bioware, Netflix is developing an anime series based on the setting of the iconic video game franchise Dragon Age. Dragon Age: Absolution’s six episodes will be on Netflix in December 2022.

Dragon Age: Absolution is the franchise’s third animated series; following Warden’s Fall in 2010 and Redemption in 2011, it will be the most extensive Dragon Age animated series.

The show’s announcement comes as fans eagerly expect the next game in the series, Dragon Age: Dreadwolf. The future RPG has been in production for years and has made weird cameos at various gaming events; however, it has yet to appear on the E3 2022 schedule. Even the official title was released a few weeks ago.

Mairghread Scott, who has written for shows ranging from Guardians of the Galaxy to Star Wars Resistance, is the showrunner. Scott also writes for the forthcoming Magic: The Gathering program on Netflix.

The Plot

Dragon Age: Absolution

At the moment of writing, we know very little about Dragon Age: Absolution’s narrative, but we do know where it will take place.

For the first time ever in Dragon Age history, the Tevinter Imperium will appear on the screen. Many Dragon Age fans will be eager to visit the Tevinter Imperium for the first time because it has only been mentioned by name in video games.

According to Netflix, the series “features an ensemble of new characters inspired by Dragon Age history,” including “elves, magicians, knights, Qunari, Red Templars, demons, and other unique surprises.”
