Tom Hopper Could Be Next James Bond?

On January 28, 1985, in Coalville, Leicestershire, the world welcomed Thomas Edward Hopper aka Tom Hopper into the world. At Newbridge High and Ashby, where he first became interested in acting, he received a solid education. He took a class in acting and ended up in a production of Return to the Forbidden Planet. He attended Rose Bruford College to hone his acting chops.

An actor from Coalville who was once favored at 3-1 now has a better chance of winning at 5-1.

Tom Hopper, a resident of Leicestershire, has fallen to his lowest rating in months in his quest to replace James Bond. The star was the frontrunner for the part only a few short weeks ago.

Although the Coalville-born actor has been mentioned as a potential replacement for Daniel Craig for nearly a year, no official announcement has been made. With the revelation of new requirements from Bond bosses this month, which effectively eliminated fan favorites Idris Elba and Tom Hardy, Hopper’s chances of succeeding Daniel Craig as 007 appeared to improve.

Tom from Leicestershire is most known for his parts in the Netflix original series The Umbrella Academy, as well as the shows Black Sails, Merlin, and Game of Thrones, but the odds don’t reflect this probable shift in fortune. His chances have really worsened since then.

Bookmakers’ odds on Tom becoming Bond have gone from 20-1 to 25-1. Because of this, he is no longer considered a prominent contender to play James Bond, falling from the third spot to the fifteenth in just a few short months.

Former Bridgerton star Rege-Jean Page is once again the betting favorite, with current odds sitting at 4/1 in his favour. Superman’s Henry Cavill is in second place at 5/2, and despite the fact that Elba and Hardy were supposedly disqualified due to the same restrictions, bookmakers still have them in third and fourth place, respectively.

Bond chiefs have stated that no casting decisions have been made, but the news does not look good for Tom, who was formerly a 3/1 favorite with bookmakers.

Hopper has been on a number of TV shows and movies, such as Saxon, Casualty, Kingdom, and Doctors, and he recently appeared in As You Like It at the Watford Palace Theatre.

In Tormented, a comedy-horror film about a bullied youngster who returns from the grave to get revenge on his classmates, Hopper played the role of Marcus. Released in theatres in May of 2009, the picture received positive reviews.

Hopper had appearances in the 2016 horror film Kill Ratio and the TV series Barbarians Rising. After that, in season 7 of Game of Thrones on HBO, he replaced Freddie Stroma as Dickon Tarly. Freddie Stroma played the part in season 6. Starring opposite Amy Schumer in 2018, I Feel Pretty became Hopper’s first major acting role.

Hopper played Luther Hargreeves in the 2019 season of The Umbrella Academy. Hopper donned a muscular suit and trained in martial arts to get into character. SAS: Red Notice, which premiered in 2020, featured Hopper.

The hit Netflix series Hitman: Husband of the Year added him as a cast member in March 2019. As of the 1st of September, 2022, Hopper can be seen in Love in the Villa, a Netflix film he starred in.
