Varun started his career in 2010 as an assistant director to Karan Johar for the SRK starrer film My Name Is Khan and after 1 year he made his acting debut in 2012 with Student of the Year directed by Karan Johar, it was also his debut film for Alia Bhatt and Siddharth Malhotra.
From the first movie Varun became a fan favorite and won the hearts of many, his chocolate boy look impressed the fans and he became a sensation and there was no looking back afterward. he then went on to feature twice in 2014 in the romantic comedy film Main Tera Hero and Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, followed by the action-comedy big-budget film Dilwalein 2015, the same year he also acted in ABCD 2.
He was next seen in Dishoom with Jhon Abraham in 2016 in an action-comedy thriller. He starred in two films in 2017, Judwaa 2 and Badrinath Ki Dulhania. In 2018 he featured in Sui Dhaaga and October. His career-best performance that received applause and lots of appreciation from critics came in the thriller Badlapur for which he also received two Filmfare Awards.
Varun appeared in Forbes India’s Celebrity magazine with a rank of 15 in the year 2018. On the personal front, Varun married his long-time girlfriend Natasha Dalal in 2021.
Varun hasn’t made much of an appearance in media in recent times as he is shooting relentlessly for his three upcoming films JugJugg Jeeyo, Bhediya, and Bawaal. He is destined to make a splendid comeback with potential superhits lined up for him, we will get to see him on the big screen on June 24 in Jug Jugg Jeeyo.
