Call of Duty: Warzone Updates: A study by the VG Tech youtube channel shows that Call of Duty: Warzone’s recently added 120fps mode works wonderfully well on the PlayStation 5.
Earlier, developers for titles such as Rocket League and Warzone reported that achieving 120fps gameplay with backward compatible titles on PS5 was nearly impossible.
Sony’s implementation of backward compatibility apparently served as the problem, with Rocket League developer Psyonix saying that a simple patch wouldn’t do the trick for enabling 120fps.
The studio would instead need to develop a “full native port,” whereas a similar frame rate boost on Xbox Series X merely demanded a small update. While the Series X received 120fps updates for these titles, PS5‘s frame rate for backward compatible games topped off at 60fps.
After Raven Software brought into effect the Season 4 update for Warzone, which unleashed the PS5 frame rate enhancement, the mod’s overall performance, and fidelity were tested by the VG Tech youtube channel.
Call of Duty: Warzone 120 FPS Mode
The results were pretty satisfactory though. The video shows that Warzone maintains 120fps pretty consistently, even during instances of quick turns and sprinting.
With the highest resolution hitting 2730 x 1536 and the lowest sitting at approximately 1372 x 1536. The game’s UI, however, boasts a resolution of 3840 x 2160, VG Tech added.
This execution of a boosted frame isn’t perfect by any means. As some PS5 owners may already know, taking advantage of Warzone in 120fps requires players to disable the HDR prior to booting the game. It is not a trade for everyone, but VG Tech’s analysis shows that it at least is worth giving a try.
Over a year after its initial release, Call of Duty: warzones are still fresh and running cool on the trail and Raven Software has deployed Season 4 introducing new operators, new mysteries, new interests, and fresh points.
