Riverdale Season 5 Time Jump Trailer Catches Up With Everyone 7 Years Later

Riverdale Season 5 Updates: In a new trailer for the fifth season that launches Archie and the rest of the characters into adulthood, Riverdale makes a long-awaited seven-year time leap.

The coming seven-year time leap, with Archie, Betty, Jughead, Veronica, and the rest of the characters all catapulted into adulthood, is seen in a new Riverdale trailer for season 5 episode 4.

The leap ahead of the CW drama has been established for some time, and now that the loose ends of season 4 have been tied up in the first three episodes of season 5, a whole lot of fresh stories will begin. With season 5 episode 4, “Purgatorio,” on February 10, Riverdale leaps ahead seven years into the future.

The time leap of Riverdale was supposed to launch Season 5, but Season 4 wrapped before completing its final chapters owing to development difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Therefore, Season 5 began with three episodes ending the high school arc of the show, which concluded on February 3. Now the series is going to have a bit of a reboot, but all the drama and crazy plots that Riverdale has been popular for over the past few years are sure to still appear.

Riverdale Season 5 Trailer

The new Riverdale trailer was uploaded by TV Promos on YouTube and features the iconic gang as young adults, now all returning after an extended time away to their hometown.

The trailer is narrated by Cole Sprouse’s Jughead Jones and involves shots of Archie fighting in a war, Veronica and her new husband, the painful escapades of Betty as an FBI agent, and the imaginative blocks of Jughead as a published poet. It’s a lot to see in just thirty seconds, and for the remainder of Riverdale season 5, it sets up plenty of fresh and ridiculous storylines.

The latest arcs for the four main characters of Riverdale are inevitable extensions of their adolescent stories in several respects. Jughead had always wanted to become a successful journalist, and her current career appeared to foreshadow Betty’s journalistic tendencies and family experience with the FBI.

What Veronica is up to in Riverdale is not completely obvious yet, other than getting married, but it undoubtedly fits into the checkered criminal past of her own kin. The appearance of Archie in the teaser is also a bit of a surprise, as his “war” scenes tend to unfold on a football field.

There’s almost a whole Riverdale season yet to come, which is bound to deliver plenty of fun and insane situations as the old gang reunite after seven years for the first time.

Post-time leap characters such as Kevin, Alice, and Toni Topaz will also feature, along with new faces such as Pop’s granddaughter Tabitha Tate (Erinn Westbrook). On February 10, Riverdale season 5 strides into the future on The CW.
