Riverdale season 5: Boss teases Betty and Archie ‘back together’: ‘Friendship evolves’

Riverdale season 5 Updates: Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, the creator of RIVERDALE, has previewed some of the most interesting developments in the young adult drama’s confusing new season. The fifth season of Riverdale has finally returned after a long absence that began in March of this year.
In the unpredictable CW series, murderous cults, fugitive criminals, and a supernatural mystery are still creating havoc on the little town, and all viewers want to know is if Archie (KJ Apa) and Betty (Lili Reinhart) will reunite.
Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, the executive producer of Riverdale, has suggested that ‘Barchie’ will become a thing in the second part of season five. Their friendship is still in tatters after their illegal kiss in season four destroyed their present relationships with Jughead (Cole Sprouse) and Veronica (Camila Mendes).
When the two became friends with benefits for a few episodes at the start of season five, fans got a taste of what they had been waiting for. This arrangement, unfortunately, did not last long or grow into anything more than a sexual connection.

According to Aguirre-Sacasa in a recent interview with TV Insider, fans will be happier with how their dynamic plays out in the second half of season five. “I would say that towards the end of the season, both Betty’s and Tabitha’s relationships with Jughead come to a clear conclusion,” he stated.
“I hate to call it a love triangle since we’re not really putting Betty against Tabitha, but both girls have their own Jughead adventures.” Some ‘Barchie’ fans were concerned that the group’s reunion might lead to Betty and Jughead reconnecting when the gang returned to town seven years later.
In the most recent episode, however, Jughead went missing, and Betty disclosed a nasty and meandering voice mail she got from her intoxicated ex-husband during their divorce. Any chance of saving their relationship now that Tabitha (Erinn Westbrook) is the new owner of Pop’s Diner looks to be fading fast.
The showrunner said, “I believe it shocked us in the writer’s room, so I hope it will surprise viewers as well.” The next nine episodes of the current season will undoubtedly be full of surprises.
