The Cast and Storyline of One Day at a Time
The new season was recreated by the legendary Norman Lear. He also created the original version of the show back in 1970. The respective sitcom starred Justina Machado as Penelope Alvarez who is playing the role of a single mother trying to sustain and raise her two teens Marcel Ruiz and Isabella Gomez. The fortunate part is her huge Cuban American family is helping her in this struggle. Rita Monera is playing the role of her mother as Lydia Riera.

The episode features a guest star Ray Romano as a census taker who shows up at the Alvarez house. He encourages the family to self introspect and look ahead what the future holds for them.
In the second episode ” Penne Pinching” we saw Penelope stepping ahead of her comfort zone to experience something new. On the contrary, her daughter Elena struggles with her e-sports match.
