Netflix has released the first trailer for Spaceman, an upcoming sci-fi film starring Adam Sandler. Sandler has recently taken on a growing list of grave parts after a long run as one of Hollywood’s greatest comedy actors.
The film Spaceman, directed by Johan Renck, promises to be another dramatic turn for the actor, following him as Jakub, the first Czech astronaut. The sci-fi adventure film Spaceman of Bohemia is based on the 2017 novel by Czech author Jaroslav Kalfa.
Netflix has released a first-look teaser trailer for Spaceman, offering more about the upcoming science fiction movie. The teaser gives us a first look at Sandler’s character as he ventures through the forest on a mysterious planet.

In a first-look teaser for the film directed by Johan Renck (Chernobyl), we see Sandler as the protagonist, thousands of miles from home and running short of hope.
The teaser is only around 30 seconds long, but it offers an intense feeling of loneliness & survival as Sandler’s Jakub walks through a creek with beautiful plants growing on both sides.
A voice (probably that of Paul Dano’s Hanu) can be heard as he makes his way across the forest, revealing the bleak similarities that he & Jakub both come across.
The movie features Jakub, an astronaut six months into a single space mission when he realizes his wife, Lenka, may not be waiting for him once he returns. Jakub begins an unexpected encounter with a weird alien creature called Hanuš as he traverses the solar system and thinks about what went wrong with his marriage.
The creature (discovered hiding in the spacecraft hull) tries to help Jakub in his relationship with Lenka and reveal bigger truths about himself and, possibly, humanity’s place in the universe.

Adam Sandler stars as Jakub Procházka, the first astronaut from the independent Czech Republic, who is sent on a space mission.
Carey Mulligan, nominated for an Academy Award, joins the cast as Jakub’s pregnant wife, Lenka. Paul Dano, who recently appeared in the dramedy Dumb Money, will play Hanuš, a mystery alien creature that befriends Jakub.
Spaceman also stars Kunal Nayyar (The Big Bang Theory) as Peter, the technician, and Isabella Rossellini (Blue Velvet) as Commissioner Tuma, Jakub’s commanding officer.
After lots of speculation and delay, Spaceman is set for a release date on Netflix on March 1, 2024.
