The Netflix Original starring Alexandra Breckenridge as ‘Mel’ Monroe and Martin Henderson as Jack Sheridan – released the second half of the fifth season just last month. However, this season certainly answered a ton load of questions that probably were whirring around fans’ minds, and with good reason.
The main question now stands at what the next season will offer thanks to the cliffhanger ending of the last season – but we do know that it will be packaged slightly differently from its previous seasons.
No doubt, the 10-episode run will be back as per the first few seasons but what does the next season hold in store?
What Is the Virgin River Season 6 About?
The holiday season might just be coming to Virgin River as although the season 6 synopsis is yet to be revealed, Patrick Sean Smith (the show’s new ‘showrunner’) mentioned to Deadline his plan for the plot, which certainly included ‘Father Christmas’.
As the title suggests, the Christmas season would have a special storyline meant for Virgin River, but it follows a bomb cliffhanger surrounding the revelation of Mel’s biological father. The sixth season will pick up where it left off – with tons of twists and turns exploring the holiday episode.
According to Deadline and Smith, the next season will show more Mel and Jack bonding moments, and possibilities of Paige’s return. He also dropped a hint on how long Lizzie would be pregnant on the show.

Who’s In the Cast of Season 6?
The official cast for the sixth season isn’t confirmed but several names can be predicted. Monroe and Henderson will be back to reprise their roles but others likely to return include Tim Matheson as Dr. Vernon “Doc” Mullins, Annette O’Toole as Hope McCrea, Colin Lawrence as John “Preacher” Middleton, Benjamin Hollingsworth as Dan Brady, Sarah Dugdale as Lizzie, Jenny Cooper as Joey Barnes and several more.
