The Handmaid’s Tale Season 6 Possible Release Date, and More!

When will The Handmaid’s Tale Season 6 be released on Hulu, let’s find out the details you need to know about the Hulu series. It’s the last season, and the stakes have never been greater.

The Handmaid’s Tale premiered in 2017 and quickly became one of the most admired, discussed, and significant television dramas in recent history.

Handmaid’s Tale, based on award-winning writer Margaret Atwood’s best-selling book of the same name, has spawned five revolutionary seasons.

Before the Season 5 debut last autumn, it was confirmed that Season 6 will be the final season of The Handmaid’s Tale. Since this announcement, fans have been anxious to learn more about the next farewell season.

When is The Handmaid’s Tale Season 6 Going to Be Released?

We had hoped for The Handmaid’s Tale Season 6 to release at the end of 2023, one year after Season 5, but the current strike in Hollywood has put that in doubt.

After failing to negotiate an agreement with the studios, the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) joined the Writers Guild of America strike on the picket lines.

Madeline Brewer, who portrays Janine, appeared on The Graham Norton Show’s 2022 New Year’s Eve special and informed the presenter, “We have a final season, which will be coming in 2024.”

As a result, it is fair to estimate that the last season will air in early to mid-2024. We’re unlikely to obtain a precise release date during the strikes, so keep an eye on this space for now.

The Handmaid’s Tale wouldn’t be the same without any of the cast members listed below, so expect to watch them all return in some way for season six:

Elisabeth Moss as June Osborne

Yvonne Strahovski as Serena Joy Waterford

Bradley Whitford as Commander Lawrence

Max Minghella as Nick

Samira Wiley as Moira

Amanda Brugel as Rita

Madeline Brewer as Janine

Ann Dowd as Aunt Lydia

O-T Fagbenle as Luke

Unfortunately for long-standing fans of the show, Alexis Bledel will not be appearing in this last episode. Rita and Moira’s responsibilities should be enhanced again.

They both had essential roles in the first three seasons of this show, but their participation drastically decreased in season five.

What Will The Handmaid’s Tale Season 6 Be About?

The Handmaid's Tale Season 6
ELLE

At the moment, nothing is known about the last season’s plot. However, we can make predictions based on how the prior season concluded.

We left June and Serena on a train to take them to Hawaii. But keep in mind that June’s “escape” was organized by Mark Tuello. Would Tuello, who knows these women hold crucial information about Gilead’s inner workings, allow his two most precious assets to slip so far out of his grasp?

Or would he rather keep them nearer to home, someplace like Commander Lawrence’s recently created New Bethlehem, which respects Gilead principles while promising its residents more freedom?

In all cases, wherever June and Serena wind up, it’ll be intriguing to see how their newfound peace evolves.

We may also anticipate what comes from Nick and Luke’s arrests. Nick had previously been very committed to Gilead, but in the Season 5 finale, we watched him eventually agree to go underground.

We assume that he’ll be able to talk himself out of his situation and be released, but it’s safe to say that his new role as Tuello’s mole might prove fatal.

On the other hand, Luke is sure to have a considerably more difficult time in custody. With both men’s futures on the line, we predict that June’s children will be fatherless by the end of the series.
