“You are not the first detective to discover this body.” This intriguing statement opens the official teaser film for Netflix’s ‘Bodies,’ a new series with a fantastic hook.

In four investigators from separate eras – 1890, 1941, 2023, and 2053 – discover the body of a specific murder victim in Whitechapel, London.

They quickly realize their findings have placed them at the center of a 150-year-old conspiracy. There are not speaking about four individual victims spanning 150 years. It’s the same body in all four timelines.

Today’s official teaser clip states, “It’s going to blow your mind.”  It’s adapted from the same-titled graphic novel by Si Spencer, released in 2015.

Connections are formed over decades, and the investigators learn that their investigations are intertwined. Elias Mannix (Stephen Graham), a mysterious political leader, appears essential.

Could Mannix have had a significant role in the murder? What ominous happenings are taking place? To solve the crime, the four detectives from various times — Hassan, Hillingwood, Whiteman, and Maplewood — must work together to unearth a 153-year-old conspiracy.

The summary states, “Four detectives from four different eras – 1890, 1941, 2023, and 2053 – discover the body of the same murder victim in London’s Whitechapel.”

“They quickly realize that their investigations have placed them at the center of a mysterious 150-year conspiracy.”
