Kaleidoscope Trailer, Release Date, Cast, Plot, and More

Netflix has posted a trailer for Kaleidoscope, their new heist drama/anthology show that spans 25 years and can be seen in (nearly) any order. But, of course, you won’t know that just by viewing the trailer.

Instead, it just seems like a typical robbery drama series.

Kaleidoscope Official Trailer Breakdown

The latest trailer from Kaleidoscope provides more details about the plot of the upcoming Netflix series. However, the most attractive part of the crime thriller is how it aggressively recruits viewers to participate in its storyline, with audiences invited to solve the larger mystery before the series finale.

The plot is mainly based on a true story in which $70 billion in bonds went missing in central Manhattan following Hurricane Sandy. The series, which stars Giancarlo Esposito, Tati Gabrielle, Rufus Sewell, Paz Vega, and Jai Courtney, follows a squad of expert thieves as they attempt to open a supposedly unbreakable vault for the highest payment in history.

Every episode uncovers a piece of a complicated puzzle of corruption, greed, revenge, scheming, loyalties, and betrayals, guarded by the world’s most influential corporate security team and with law enforcement on this case.

How did the thieving team plan it? Who can get away with it? Who can be relied on?

Unique Feature of Kaleidoscope

Kaleidoscope
Netflix

Kaleidoscope isn’t your usual crime show. When the show premieres on January 1, 2023, anybody who watches it will be given all eight episodes in a random order, ranging from 25 years before the theft to six months after.

The only thing that each watcher will have in common is that the White episode (or the day of the heist) is the last one everyone will see.

Here’s a summary of the Kaleidoscope episodes. Remember, this is different from the actual order in which you view them. Some of you will begin with Red, while others will begin with Violet, and so on:

“Yellow: 6 Weeks Before The Heist”
“Green: 7 Years Before the Heist”
“Blue: 5 Days Before the Heist”
“Violet: 24 Years Before the Heist”
“Orange: 3 Weeks Before the Heist”
“Red: The Morning After the Heist”
“Pink: 6 Months After”
“White: The Heist” (finale)
