After Will Smith apologized for his behavior in a video, Chris Rock made a joke about their fight at the Oscars in 2022.
The incident occurred between the two men. A few hours after Smith delivered a second apology for slapping the comic at the Oscars ceremony in March, Rock performed a performance at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta. Smith had slapped the comedian earlier in March.
Rock mentioned the first incident during his show, but he did not comment on the actor’s video. On Friday, Smith regretted what had occurred (July 29).

“Everybody is trying to be a fucking victim,” Rock is claimed to have said while performing, according to a remark published in People. If everyone claims they are a victim, then no one will pay attention to the people who were victimized. Even after Suge Smith slapped me in the face… I returned to work the day after that and had children.”
Chris Rock also revealed that Will Smith is trying to contact him.
It is believed that Rock’s reference to Smith as “Suge Smith” was a play on the name Suge Knight, the former CEO of Death Row Records who was found guilty of manslaughter in September 2018 and sentenced to 28 years in prison for the crime.
Suge Knight was also referred to as “Suge Knight” in Rock’s lyrics. In September of 2018, Suge Knight was given a sentence that would put him to death behind bars.
Rock said, “anyone who thinks words can hurt has never been slapped in the face.” In the video in which he expressed his regrets, Smith said that he had tried to get in touch with the comedian, but “he’s not ready to talk” with him. Smith addressed Chris by saying, “I will say to you, Chris.” “I shall say to you.” “Please accept my apologies. My behavior was unbearable, and I am available whenever you are ready to discuss it. I am sorry for the trouble I caused.
‘It hurts me personally and psychologically to know that I didn’t live up to people’s image and the notion of me, and it saddens me even more that I let them down,’ he added. ‘It kills me personally and emotionally to know I didn’t live up to people’s picture and the idea of me.
My goal with this poem is to convey that I am sorry for what I have done and that I am making a concerted effort to feel sorry for myself without being ashamed of who I am. I am human, and I made a mistake.”
As a direct consequence of what took place, Smith tendered his resignation from the Academy in April. After that, he was barred from attending any events hosted by the Academy for the subsequent ten years.
Rock had already made a joke about the slap he had gotten at the Oscars in May when he was doing stand-up comedy with Dave Chappelle. He made a statement along the lines of, “I got smacked by the softest n***a that ever rapped,” or anything to that effect.
