Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Release Date, Characters, Plot, and More

Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have returned! Several things make people delighted when they see them emerging from NYC’s drains.

Some of the unusual and nasty critters that could emerge from the deep are the iconic NYC Pizzeria Rats and folklore sewage alligators. Fortunately, the next animals to emerge from the drains may pique the public’s interest.

Although they appreciate a cheesy piece of pizza as much as the pizzeria rat, they also adore battling crime and wearing bright colors. And, sure, they have been spotted with only a rat or so. If you haven’t already guessed, our beloved quartet of mutant turtles is returning to the big screen.

Following the conclusion of Nickelodeon’s Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles show in 2018, the turtles resurface in this sequel of the series finale. Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie will be released on Netflix in August 2022 from a sewage grate nearest to you.

The film will include a clash against the series’ usual villainous aliens, the Krang, as well as the comeback of another series’ recurring face that several fans are looking forward to seeing.

The movie will be a sequel to the Nickelodeon animated series Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The series aired from July 20, 2018, to August 7, 2020.

Here’s all we know thus far about the film.

On August 5, 2022, Netflix will release Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie on its streaming site. In February 2019, Netflix revealed their interest in the project, but unfortunately, there wasn’t any confirmation at that moment,  nor any indication of a cinematic run for the picture.

The film’s production was concluded on April 7, 2022. The film was initially scheduled to be released on August 27, 2021.

Unfortunately, the processing did not finish on time, therefore the launch date was delayed. This might be due to the COVID-19 outbreak, which caused a lot of delays and shifts for big productions throughout that time period.

Trailer

In early July, Netflix published the full trailer for the humorous action cartoon film. The trailer opens with the turtles demonstrating mastery of their supernatural abilities by halting a fast-moving vehicle chase.

It then reveals a person that many fans of the series may be familiar with. Casey Jones returns, this time as a future pupil of the turtles and the grandson of the turtles’ archenemy Cassandra Jones.

He conveys a message that an extraterrestrial race identified as the Krang would devastate the Earth. Jones has been sent back in time to prevent an approaching invasion and rescue the planet before it becomes too late.

Unfortunately, it appears that the Krang have already been summoned. Worse, something happens that causes the turtles to lose their magical abilities. With the destiny of the Earth in their hands, the turtles and their motley crew of warriors must overcome apparently overwhelming difficulties in order to vanquish the Krang.
