Sex Education Season 4 Updates: Fans can no longer wait for the arrival of Season 4 of Netflix’s fan-favorite ‘Sex Education. Laurie Nunn created this British comedy series that has only satisfied the audience with each season a little more. The series focuses on the students of a fictional school named Moordale Secondary School.
Primarily revolving around Otis, a sexually ambivalent teenager, the plot introduces Maeve Wiley who is a rebellious teenager with a complicated psyche. The two of them open an underground sex clinic to help students of their school.
Eventually, more characters unfold their stories before us and we get to see their fantastic character arc. All this while Otis and Maeve struggle with their repressed feelings for each other.
Asa Butterfield and Emma Mackey have played the roles of Otis and Maeve respectively in the series.
Other cast members of the series include Gillian Anderson, Ncuti Gatwa, Connor Swindells, Kedar Williams-Stirling, Alistair Petrie, Mimi Keene, Aimee Lou Wood, Tanya Reynolds, Mikael Persbrandt, Patricia Allison, Simone Ashley, George Robinson, etc.
Premiering on January 11, 2019, on Netflix, the series got renewed for a fourth season on September 25, 2021. But to the utter dismay of the fans of ‘Sex Education’, not all their favorite cast members will return to reprise their roles.
Patricia Allison, who is the star of Ola, announced back in July 2022 that she wouldn’t be returning for her pansexual teenage role. Simone Ashley who is now a primary cast of ‘Bridgerton’ and starred in ‘Sex Education’ as Olivia, has confirmed that she will not reprise her role as she is a Bridgerton girl now.
And now for the most saddening and still unconfirmed fact- Emma Mackey portraying Maeve Wiley has also hinted that she might not be returning for her iconic and breakthrough role as Maeve in the fourth season owing to Mackey’s suggestion of how she cannot be a teenager her whole life.
The newer season will possibly arrive on the streaming site late this year. Before that, let us find out where the other cast members of the series have been seen before.

One of the main characters Otis Milburn is played by English actor Asa Butterfield. He began his acting career with the role of Andrew in the television film ‘After Thomas in 2006.
He also appeared in a single episode of ‘Ashes to Ashes’, ‘Thunderbirds Are Go’ three episodes of the fantasy adventure series ‘Merlin’, and the horror anthology series the ’50 States of Fright’.

Best friend of Maeve and the teenager who is presented to be facing a hard time dealing with her sexual assault, Aimee Gibbs is played by English actress Aimée Lou Wood.
‘Sex Education’ is her screen debut for which she won the British Academy Television Award in the category of Best Female Comedy Performance in 2021.
The films in which Aimee starred are ‘The Electrical Life of Louis Wain’ and ‘Living’. Her stage performances include Handmaiden in ‘Mary Stuart’ from 2016 to 2017, Laura in ‘People, Places, and Things’ in 2017 and Sonya in ‘Uncle Vanya’ in 2020.
Jean Milburn played by Gillian Anderson:
Jean Milburn is Otis’ mother and a renowned sex therapist in the series. American actress Gillian Anderson plays the role of Jean in the series.

Eric Effiong played by Ncuti Gatwa:
Eric is his best friend of Otis and is a gay teenager. Scottish actor Ncuti Gatwa plays the role of Eric in the series. He starred in the films Horrible Histories: The Movie- Rotten Romans and ‘The Last Letter from Your Lover’.
He will be seen to star in the upcoming 2023 movie ‘Barbie’ in which his ‘Sex Education’ co-star Emma Mackey will also star. In the upcoming miniseries ‘Masters of the Air, he will also be starring as well as in the sci-fi series ‘Doctor Who as the main character Fourteenth Doctor.
