Stranger Things Season 4 of the newest trailer suggests that the series fixes one of the biggest problems in season 3. The season 4 trailer suggests that the show is back to its roots, like Eleven, Mike Wheeler, Lucas Sinclair, and other main characters all return for a new season this summer.
Stranger Things kicks off as youngsters in season 1, but they quickly grow into teens, and their growth is particularly noticeable in season 3. This, unfortunately, leaves Will Byers feeling marginalized, as he still wants to play Dungeons and Dragons.
The series also focuses less on the mystery of Mind Flayer and Upside Down than in seasons 1 and 2, until its final episodes. It ends as children and adult characters, including Jim Hopper and Joyce Byers, come together to take on the “spots”, which turn into an evil spider monster.
The Stranger Things season 4 trailer suggests that the series will return to its dark roots, setting aside points for the youth love theme that has defined season 3. While features of King’s career are in season 3, the terrifying tone of the new trailer suggests that the Unusual Things 4 season will put eleven, Mike, and the rest of the gang in a more horrific test than they endured last season.
Season 4 seems to return to the dingier color palette for Season 1 and 2, which is clearly influenced by Stephen King stories such as The Shining, and films by John Carpenter and Steven Spielberg. The haunted house in the season 4 trailer is particularly reminiscent of Myers’ house from Carpenter’s Halloween.
Stranger Things Season 4: Update On Release Date
The appearance of Vecna, a new opponent of Stranger Things season 4, also indicates that the series is moving to a dark place. While the season 3 villain, Spider Monster, is awesome, it does not have much on-screen interaction on Upside Down and offers little information about hell.
Additionally, while the Spider Monster resembles the Kaiju monster in terms of aimless pink without feeding and growing, Vecna appears to be a very clever threat that could be a major challenge, especially now that Eleven has lost his mental capacity.
As a clever beast, it may be openly connected to Mind Flayer and help explain the mysteries of Upside Down. All in all, Unknown Season 4 season seems to be very focused on Upside Down and the horror-inspired stuff of previous seasons, fixing season 3 concerns about romantic relationships.
