The LG Velvet 5G received an update to Android 11 a few weeks ago. Now it is the turn of the 4G model. You can look forward to many new functions.

Users of the LTE version of the LG Velvet mobile phone can now look forward to Android 11 as well. The 5G version received the update two months ago.

According to the blog PiunikaWeb, the update does not have a changelog, so it is unclear whether all the features of Android 11 are included in the update.

LG does not only produce monitors and televisions. The South Korean manufacturer is also active in the smartphone and tablet market.

The South Korean manufacturer LG is withdrawing from the mobile phone business in July, but the manufacturer still wants to distribute software updates – initially Android 11 .

As LG recently announced, premium smartphones will receive up to three Android versions from the year of purchase. All cell phones that came on the market in 2019 and later will receive updates for three years. Exceptions are the LG Stylo and the devices of the K series. These cell phones only have two versions of the operating system.

Various LG models with Android 11 are to be considered in 2021. The rollout for the Velvet 5G should be completed by April. The G8X will receive Android 11 in the 3rd quarter, the Velvet 4G, G8S, Wing, K52, and K42 will receive the latest Google OS in the 4th quarter.

LG UX: LG’s own user interface at a glance

Like most other Android smartphone manufacturers, LG uses its own user interface called LG UX, formerly Optimus UI. The LG UX is currently available on the LG Velvet in version 10.0. The surface of LG UX and Samsung’s One UI differ only slightly, only the notification bar and the photo gallery have a slightly different look. LG keeps a low profile when it comes to other user interface features.
