What Is the Reason Behind the United States Banning Apple Watch?
The roots of their dispute lie over the claim of Masimo, as Masimo claims that Apple has broken his five technologies related to pulse oximeter technology, which is a very vital feature of Apple Watch as it is an important element for measuring oxygen level in the blood.
Back in October 2023, the International Trade Commission(ITC) took the side of Masimo and found Apple had broken some of their technology deals. This incident triggered the news of the ban on Apple in the United States ahead.
Following the guidelines of ITC, Apple worked on it swiftly and took the respective steps according to it. Even the sales of Apple series 9 and Ultra 2 have been put on halt in the US, allowing the last purchase till the 24th of December this year.
The move typically aimed to avoid the legal complications between the two of the leading companies. But on the other hand, Apple has also filed in favor of their appeals, and now they are hopeful that the Biden government will take a step in favor of them and oppose the ban.
If there is no improvement in the decision and the ban remains as it is then Apple is going to face a legit amount of losses that will impact up to billions of dollars.
Also, it will eventually lead to a negative impact on Apple users and will deter their confidence and belief in it. Let’s see how Apple will deal with this new challenge.
