Aquaman 2 Director James Wan Welcomes Amber Heard Back for Sequel

Aquaman 2 Updates: With Aquaman 2 filming set to begin next month, star Amber Heard begins her quarantine and receives a beautiful note from director James Wan.

Before the start of filming for Aquaman 2, director James Wan welcomes Amber Heard back to the DCEU. Arthur Curry, played by Jason Momoa, took the stage in 2018’s Aquaman, a deep-sea adventure in which Arthur accepted his role as King of Atlantis.

The picture was a genuine box office success, and it quickly prepared the way for a sequel, but it has taken longer than expected to come. Aquaman 2 is set to hit theatres in December 2022. Momoa and Wan, who helmed the previous picture, will both return, as will several other recognizable faces.

Though narrative specifics are still being withheld, Aquaman 2 was recently given the official title of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Heard reprises her role as Princess Mera, Patrick Wilson reprises his role as Orm, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II reprises his role as Black Manta.

In the instance of Heard, her Aquaman 2 role comes after online reports of her termination surfaced. Despite some fans clamoring for her dismissal due to her legal issues with ex-husband Johnny Depp, the actress remains committed to the DCEU and the role of Mera.

We Got This Covered

Heard posted a picture of a message she received from Wan over the weekend. Heard confirmed her quarantine in the post, before the start of filming on Aquaman 2. “Amber, welcome back to Atlantis,” Wan wrote in his greeting, which arrived on opulent stationery. You may read Heard’s entire post down below.

As the normal period of Heard’s quarantine during the epidemic lasts, filming will not at least begin for another two weeks. This is in keeping with the previous statement of Momoa that the production of the Aquaman sequel will start in July.

The beginning of the filming may give new insights on what to expect from the DCEU picture; there is little divulged about the story right now. However, based on the title, it may be theoretically stated that the Aquaman sequel would explore some of the underwater worlds in the first film.

From sharing throwback photos from the first film to peeling back the curtain at the training, Heard has written a lot about her work on Aquaman2. She’s sure she’s going to be starred in the Aquaman sequel, next to Momoa, and she’s obviously extremely happy to start.

Based on how much she shares in the pre-production phase, Heard might treat fans as soon as filming starts. Just a few weeks to come, so stay tuned for future updates.
