Amber Heard Will Appear In Aquaman 2 In Much Smaller Role.

The release date of Aquaman 2 was recently changed to 2023, although it has been eagerly anticipated since the 2018 smash sequel starring Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, and Patrick Wilson was given the go-ahead.

Oddly, Heard’s career did not advance much after the success of her DC movie. Despite the fact that her agent has acknowledged the first film should have made her more “bankable,” she is apparently slated to make an appearance in the second picture in a much smaller role.

As part of the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard trial that took place earlier this year, Jessica Kovacevic was called to speak before the film was rescheduled.

She observed throughout the proceedings that the actress had not achieved the level of success that would have been anticipated given the DC character that Heard had played in both the HBO Max adaptation of Zack Snyder’s Justice League and James Wan’s Aquaman.

While critics like Sean O’Connell of CinemaBlend were reasonably interested in Aquaman as a movie, many reviews were less enthusiastic about Mera, which may have contributed to the issue.

While Refinery 29 praised Mera and Arthur Curry’s relationship as “fun and quippy,” many reviews were critical of the actress’ scarlet wig and performance. Between other mediocre reviews, the event referred to the move as “one-note.”

The movie Aquaman 2 has caused a lot of discussion in recent weeks. It came up several times during the defamation litigation between Amber Heard and Johnny Depp, with Heard herself saying that she’d “fought” valiantly to remain in the picture, especially after information of what era was doing in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom leaked during the trial.

After Aquaman, Ms. Heard allegedly lost an Amazon project she had been up for, though she has landed roles in other projects, including joining the cast of Stephen King series The Stand, which came out in 2019.

While the rumor mill for a while even implied she’d been cut from Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, she does have that role coming up, as well as a gig in the Conor Allyn movie In the Fire.
