Why Falcon And Winter Soldier’s Happy Ending Worked

Falcon And Winter Soldier Updates: The Falcon and The Winter Soldier’s finale ended solidifying the roles of Captain America Sam Wils on (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) towards a new positive direction.

By saving the Global Repatriation Council’s members, even John Walker (Wyatt Russell) and Sharon Carter (Emily VanCamp) ended in better places than how their characters were at the start of the series.

Let’s take a look at why The Falcon and The Winter Soldier’s ending was perfect:

While it can be debated how there were too many plots in its six-hour runtime, the true aim of the series was to lay groundwork for the rest of Marvel Cinematic Universe’s upcoming movies and TV shows. It was also meant to show fans of what Captain America would stand for post Avengers.

Given that some fans felt that a lot of characters were not given proper closure, Marvel Studios strategically announced the release of Captain America 4 which would continue their stories.

The series also managed to elevate Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes who had been playing the supporting characters for Captain America Steve Rogers (Chris Evans). It freed them from their past mistakes and traumas set Captain America and The Winter Soldier for a more upbeat MCU future.

Sam Wilson’s memorial of Isaiah Bradley was one of the most heartwarming moments in the whole franchise. As Isaiah was one of the main reasons behind Sam accepting the role of Captain America, the loss was quite unbearable for him.

With Bradley being ignored by his own government and living in bitterness and fear for decades, this was a real tear jerker scene.

Another reason why we loved the ending has to be Sam and Bucky finally becoming real friends. With scoffing at each other and questioning the other’s judgement at the start, they became genuine friends at long last.

Bucky even patted Sam on the back by tapping the shield which was “all the family” he had left. Bucky was even welcomed by the Wilson family in Louisiana where he finally laughed and relaxed and even flirted with Sam’s sister.

All this along with Bucky leaving his Hydra-created alter ego behind gave The Falcon and Winter Soldier a happy ending which is quite rare for an MCU. It also gave the fans a bright future to look ahead for.
