Black Adam Movie Producer Confirms Filming Start In April

Black Adam Updates: Producer Hiram Garcia has announced that Black Adam will begin filming in Georgia next month. He also expresses his enthusiasm for the film.

Hiram Garcia, the producer of Black Adam, has announced that shooting on the new superhero film will begin in April 2021. Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has been attached to play the ancient Egyptian antihero Black Adam for over a decade, and his cinematic outing as the character has been long anticipated.

Johnson was speculated to be playing the lead as a villain in both David F. Sandberg’s 2019 Shazam! movie and an earlier version of The Suicide Squad. Provided the former WWE superstar’s star power, DC Films decided to make a standalone film about the Kahndaq warrior 5000 years after he was imprisoned.

Black Adam took some time to get going when it was first announced. However, the film made significant progress last year, especially after it was teased to be a part of the main DCEU movie lineup at the DC FanDome. According to the initial plan, Black Adam will start filming in July 2020 and enter cinemas on December 22, 2021.

However, owing to the occurrence of the Covid-19 pandemic in the United States, the film’s release date was set back significantly until it was completely removed from the DCEU release schedule. Several audiences were deeply worried about the huge reshuffle, fearing that the film would either be significantly postponed or never see the light of day.

Still, much to their delight, Johnson eased their fears by confirming that the film will begin shooting in spring 2021. Another update on Black Adam’s progress is now available.

The President of Production, Hiram Garcia, at Johnson’s Seven Bucks Production, confirmed that Black Adam will begin shooting in Georgia in April during an interview with Comic Book on Tuesday. Garcia expressed his enthusiasm for the movie, saying that despite the difficulties faced by the pandemic, the crew was able to reassemble and get the film going in the right direction.

Garcia also mentioned in his interview that he is interested in adding more characters to the DC Universe than just Black Adam. In reality, he’s just as excited for the Justice Society of America (JSA) superheroes to make their live-action debuts.

Black Adam will be alone in his big-screen debut, as previously said. The JSA members accompany him, a group of superhero underdogs who aim to fight for justice and reality. Noah Centineo’s Atom Smasher, Aldis Hodge’s Hawkman, Quintessa Swindell’s Cyclone, and Doctor Fate, who has yet to be cast, will all appear in Black Adam. Aside from the JSA, the upcoming film will also star a range of other characters.

Marwan Kenzari of Aladdin will play a mysterious character, while Sarah Shahi of The Rookie will most likely play Isis, Adam’s love interest.

Several worried fans will undoubtedly be relieved by the announcement of Black Adam’s release date. The film has faced unprecedented roadblocks in its production over the years, leaving audiences worried about the film’s fate.

However, with the film set to begin production next month, it appears that viewers will not have to wait long to see Johnson in his superhero costume. DC typically begins filming 18 months before the film’s release date. However, because of the Covid-19 safety measures, Black Adam would most likely take longer to film. If all goes according to plan, the film will be out by Christmas 2022.
