This is a fantasy movie adapted from the same named 2013 novel by Soman Chainani. The plot revolves around two best friends Agatha and Sophie who get admitted into a school for aspiring villains and heroes which aims to protect the balance between the world’s good and evil by training its students.
But Sophie and Agatha’s lives change drastically when they are forced to fight in an epic battle on opposing sides. Sophia Anne Caruso and Sofia Wylie starred as Sophie and Agatha respectively in the movie that was released on October 19, 2022.
Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore-
This is the third installment of the Fantastic Beasts film series and the eleventh film of the Wizarding World franchise, led by the world-famous Harry Potter films.
The plot revolves around a much younger Albus Dumbledore plotting the demise of Gellert Grindelwald with the help of magizoologist Newt Scamander and how the former’s past relationship with Grindelwald affects the war against the dark wizard.
Jude Law, Eddie Redmayne, and Mads Mikkelsen have starred as Dumbledore, Newt, and Grindelwald respectively in the movie. The movie was released on April 8, 2022, in the United Kingdom and later in the United States on April 15 this year.
Slumberland-
This fantasy adventure movie is inspired by the comic strip of Windsor McCay- ‘Little Nemo in Slumberland’. The plot takes a young girl named Nemo at the center who embarks upon an unusual journey in the dreamworld amidst dreams and nightmares to meet her late father with the help of an eccentric outlaw Flip.
‘Game of Thrones‘ famed Jason Momoa has portrayed Flip with Marlow Barkley as Nemo in the movie. It was released on November 18, 2022, on Netflix.
Pinocchio-
This is a musical fantasy movie that is the live-action remake of the same named 1940 Disney film which was itself adapted from Carlo Collodi’s 1883 book. The plot revolves around the wooden puppet called Pinocchio who obtains life from a blue fairy.
He wants to be a real boy and strives to embark on adventures. He is crafted by an old woodcarver from Italy named Geppetto. But to fulfill his aspiration of becoming a real boy, Pinocchio has to encounter a lot of hostile situations. Tom Hanks portrayed Geppetto in the movie with Benjamin Evan Ainsworth‘s voice-casting as Pinocchio.
Morbius-
This is a superhero movie based on the same named character from Marvel Comics. The plot revolves around the titular Dr. Michael Morbius who conducts a risky experiment leading to unexpected consequences in order to end his lifelong suffering from a terrible disease.
Jared Leto starred as Morbius in the movie. It was released on April 1, 2022, in the United States.
Fullmetal Alchemist: Final Transmutation-
The plot of this Japanese movie whose other title is ‘Fullmetal Alchemist: The Final Alchemy‘ revolves around the Elric brothers who find themselves facing their toughest opponent till now in the form of a loner serial killer.
Their adventure does not only lead them to their own fight against evil but also tends to reveal significant state secrets as well as some truths about the past of Ed and Al’s father. The movie released on June 24, 2022.
Three Thousand Years of Longing-
The plot of this fantasy romantic movie, adapted from A. S. Byatt’s short story ‘The Djinn in the Nightingale’s Eye’, revolves around a mythology scholar Dr. Alithea Binnie who is offered three wishes by a djinn in exchange for his freedom. But as an expert on stories of mythology, Dr. Binnie already knows about the cautions regarding this kind of wishes.
Yet being swayed by the djinn’s pleas, she makes a wish surprising both the djinn and herself. Tilda Swinton and Idris Elba portrayed Dr. Binnie and the Djinn respectively in the movie. It premiered on May 20, 2022, at the Cannes International Film Festival.
Black Adam-
This superhero movie about an ancient superhuman, the titular DC Comics character, serves as the eleventh movie of the DC Extended Universe. Dwayne Johnson starred as Black Adam in the movie that was released on October 21, 2022, in the United States.

This American teen horror movie is adapted from the same named novella by Stephen King. The plot surrounds a teenager befriending an elderly billionaire and also that he finds himself able to communicate with his elderly friend after the later dies. The movie released on October 5, 2022, on Netflix.
