WandaVision Was Heavily Inspired by Thor: Ragnarok

WandaVision  Updates: The critically-acclaimed series was influenced by the bold risks Thor: Ragnarok took, WandaVision producer and head writer Jac Schaeffer revealed.

WandaVision was highly influenced by Thor: Ragnarok 2017. Both WandaVision and Thor: Ragnarok is noteworthy departures from the familiar MCU template, taking chances that totally defied audience standards of storyline and visuals.

In a colorful adventure that allowed Hemsworth to flex his comic chops and finished with the sudden destruction of Asgard, Thor: Ragnarok certainly forged a different direction for the usually serious thunder god Thor (Chris Hemsworth).

WandaVision is another Miracle first, covered in a mystery with the series marking the first foray of the MCU through sitcom programming.

WandaVision Elizabeth Olsen

There are countless questions hanging over the charmed Westview life of Vision (Paul Bettany) and Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen). What’s behind the sitcom effect in a city no one wants to remember on the outside?

All signs tend to lead to Wanda as the culprit at this stage, Since Wanda ejected Monica from Westview, what about SWORD agent Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) muttering, “It’s Wanda, it’s all Wanda,”.

Initially, the producer and head writer of WandaVision, Jac Schaeffer, was afraid that WandaVision would not engage with viewers because of the risky nature of the program.

The Marvel film that encouraged her to take a chance was unveiled by Schaeffer. Schaeffer revealed in an interview with IndieWire how watching Thor: Ragnarok creatively blew her mind.

The imaginative danger of Schaeffer itself paid off. WandaVision has been very well received by viewers and was the top-rating show or video on Rotten Tomatoes by the MCU at one point.

It’s awesome that Schaeffer was influenced by Thor: Ragnarok, but also came up with an original idea that is totally different from the 2017 Marvel movie. The show even decided to introduce Darcy Lewis (Kat Dennings) into Thor’s favorite fan in a manner that made sense for the WandaVision storyline and carried the story along.

The question is, what will happen next on WandaVision?Monica Rambeau has returned to the actual world, but Wanda is increasingly reluctant to abandon her dream.

Any of the spectacular action that has yet to come was teased by an amazing new mid-season trailer, with Wanda claiming, “I don’t know how any of this started!” and Vision struggling to escape Westview.

As a show idea, The show was certainly a risk, but it’s awesome that Schaeffer and Marvel went right ahead with a series that has become a fun fan-guessing game.
