The Orville Season 3 Updates: The Orville is an American Sci-Fi comedy TV series created by Seth MacFarlane who casts in and as the series protagonist Ed Mercer, an officer in planetary union’s line of exploratory space vessels in the 25th century.
Two seasons have aired so far with season 1 of 12 episodes and season 2 with a total of 14 episodes. The third season is currently targeted to release on Hulu in late 2021, which was about to release in 2020 but got delayed due to the present global situation.
With the series departure from FOX, Hulu is its new destination.
Although the first season got negative reviews from the critics, season 2 was better received.
It has been the broadcaster’s highest debut drama and FOX’s “most viewed debut drama” since 2015.
The series also casts Adrianne Palicki (Commander Kelly Grayson, Ed’s ex-wife, and first officer of The Orville), Penny Johnson Jerald (Doctor Claire Finn, Chief medical officer on The Orville), Scott Grimes as lieutenant commander Gordon Malloy, Peter Macon (lieutenant commander Bortus), Halston Sage (lieutenant Alara Kitan), J. Lee (lieutenant John LaMarr), Mark Jackson as Issac, the science and engineering officer on The Orville.
All About The Orville Season 3
The Disney owned show due to the surge in Coronavirus cases in Los Angeles has to halt the production of season 3 in late December 2020 which got delayed already as Hollywood shuts down due to the global emergency, where 5-6 months additional production time was there to wrap up the season.
This is Us, Black-ish, and the last man standing; Disney owned series are also put on a production halt due to the crisis.
The production delayed may not be a massive roadblock, but it is assumed that Disney may not halt production further.
The series season 3 is much-hyped that it is really disappointing to the fans that went psyched when the rumours spread that it is going be the series finale season.
The rumours were made back in August 2020 which was rebuked by the staff members. But, production delays may cause the cancellation of the show no matter how successful the show is.
There is no solid release date yet for season 3 to be released, fans are just hoping that the wait is worth it, and season 4 renewal is along the corner.
