Selena: The Series is a new Netflix series set to release during the holiday season. The series is about the life of the late singer Selena Quintanilla Perez who is also called the Queen of Tejano music. Netflix released the most anticipated trailer of this series on Monday and announced that the series would be available to stream across the nation on Netflix on December 4.
The series is said to be in two parts, the first part of the series would be spanning six-hour episodes. ‘’Selena: The Series’’ is coming nearly 24 years after ‘Selena’ the motion picture that chronicled the singer’s life starring Jennifer Lopez which was released in 1997.

The trailer of the series starts with Selena in her well known White Pants and Beaded top as she makes her way to a dark stage and the trailer then cuts into Abraham Quintanilla listening to the young Selena singing outside is what we can witness in this nearly two minutes trailer. The trailer then shows us the transition of Selena from a young girl into a teen singer at a concert and recording music inside a studio. We can also see Selena’s brother A.B Quintanilla talking to his father about the wanting to write songs and then the trailer shows a montage of Selena performing ‘’Como la Flor’’ her hit song.
The cast of the series was announced in December 2019. Christian Serratos will play Selena’s role who is known best for the roles in ‘’Twilight’’ series and ‘’The Walking Dead’’ and also in the Nickelodeon show Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide.
A.B Quintanilla’s role is played by Gabriel Chavarria who has appeared in ‘’Freedom Writers’’ and ‘’The Purge’’ and Abraham Quintanilla’s role played by Ricardo Chavira from ‘’Desperate Housewives’’ and ‘’Telenovela’’, Seidy Lopez will the role of Marcella Quintanilla, Noemi Gonzalez will play Suzette Quintanilla, Chris Perez’s role is played Jesse Posey, Julio Macias will be seen playing Pete Astudillo’s role.
Selena was raised in Corpus Christi and Rose to fame on the Tejano scene in the 1990s but unfortunately, Selena was fatally shot by the president of her fan club Yolanda Saldivar in March 1995.
