Kengan Ashura Season 3 Updates: The fans of the Japanese manga adapted anime, Kengan Ashura, are eagerly waiting for the 3rd  season in the row after the successful ending of the second season. The manga series had been written by Yabako Sandrovich and illustrated by Daromeon and serialized on Shogakukan’s Ura Sunday website from April 2012 to August 2018.

Kengan Ashura consists of a total of 27 volumes when all the chapters are compiled together. The anime adaptation premiered back in July 2019 via Netflix and the second one in October 2019.

Pandemic disrupted a lot of anime releases, and thus, Kengan Ashura met the same fate. The sequel, Kengan Omega, was supposed to get released this summer but is delayed. With the backdrop of the Edo period of Japan, wealthy business merchants hire various gladiators from various arenas to make them fight in matches called Kengan matches. Things take a turn when a regular clerk working at Nogi Group, Yamashita Kazuo, witnessed a street fight.

One of the fighters, Tokita “Ashura” Ohma is scouted out by the Nogi Group CEO, Nogi Hideki, because of defeating their previous fighter in the street fight Kazuo, inspired by the fight, impresses Ohma by fighting roughly with the opponents.

His awesome ability to crush his enemies catches the attention of big businessmen. The story proves that life has its own way of surprising us. But sometimes, there are many dark secrets behind your sudden stroke of luck, and that’s what Kazuo discovers eventually the intentions of Ohma and his past coming back to haunt him simultaneously.

What Critics say about Kengan Ashura

Many have criticized that the anime version did not do justice to the manga and did not match the manga fan’s expectations. On the other hand, many said that even though the anime was slow-paced, it could capture the attention of the audience, even the ones who are new to the anime genre. Kengan Ashura anime got a rate of 7/10 by the viewers.
