The Lincoln Lawyer Season 2 Renewal Status, and More

Despite the fact that The Lincoln Lawyer season 2’s release date is still unknown, the Netflix courtroom drama is still the talk of the town because of a variety of updates, most of which are casting-related and do not erase it from Netflix’s history.

What’s on Netflix has stated that filming for the courtroom drama will start on October 31, 2022, in Los Angeles, and it will end on March 23, 2023. Although this further delays the premiere, we have some great news regarding The Lincoln Lawyer season 2 for you. Read on to learn about it first. 

The Lincoln Lawyer stars Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Mickey Haller, the defense attorney who takes on the infamous murder case of a tycoon while operating from the back seat of a Lincoln Navigator.

Along with other characters like Jazz Raycole, who portrays his driver, and Angus Sampson, who portrays his buddy and investigator, Becki Moore and Neve Argyll play Mickey Haller’s ex-wives. This ensemble cast elevates the charming legal drama to a must-watch status. 

We also know that “The Fifth Witness,” Connelly’s fourth Mickey Haller book, will be the basis for “The Lincoln Lawyer” Season 2. The subject of “The Fifth Witness” is the case of Lisa Trammel, a long-time client of Haller’s who is suspected of killing a wealthy mortgage broker.

It’s noteworthy that the showrunners have decided to leave out the third book in the Haller series, called “The Reversal.” In season two of “The Lincoln Lawyer” on Netflix, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo will reappear as Mickey Haller.

Neve Campbell, Jazz Raycole, and Angus Sampson, along with others, will appear with him. In fact, Becki Newton will appear as Lorna Taylor, Mickey’s second ex-wife and legal secretary, who was last seen submitting an admission for law school in Season 1, Episode 10.

For “The Lincoln Lawyer” Season 2, Netflix has announced that the showrunners’ team will grow by one, with Dailyn Rodriguez (shown above) officially joining as a co-showrunner and executive director.

She created the shows “Queen of the South” on USA Network and “The Night Shift” on NBC. Both of these shows had a somewhat serious mood and dealt with some very serious issues, such as the drug trade, abuse, and poverty. 

Deadline announced on October 26, 2022, that Lana Parrilla, who was most recently seen in the films “Why Women Kill” and “Once Upon a Time,” will be joining the second season of “The Lincoln Lawyer.”

She will play Lisa Trammell, a recurrent character who is Mickey’s longtime friend who is fighting to keep her restaurant operating in the face of a threatening real estate developer.

Additionally, according to Deadline, Yaya DaCosta, former head of “Chicago Med” and “Our Kind of People,” will appear in Season 2 of the show as Andrea Freeman, Mickey’s fierce rival and the only prosecution in history to never lose a case.
