Before Netflix’s confirmation for the same, there were speculations that the series might not make it to the OTT Giant. It may be mentioned that Four Knights of the Apocalypse was featured at Anime Japan 2023, and during the event, a teaser in toe with the cast members was released – however, there was no mention of the animated series sadly.

This was a sequel to the Seven Deadly Sins manga series which was originally written and illustrated by Nakaba Suzuki and produced by Telecom Animation Films.

The plotline takes place several years after the events of The Seven Deadly Sins, and definitely after the disbanding of Britannia’s most notorious team of Holy Knights. Percival, a young boy, who learns about the Four Knights of the Apocalypse is destined to join the warriors and destroy the world that he is destined to join.

However, he is targeted by the evil forces of Camelot, which is ruled by a dark King Arthur Pendragon. However, on the Four Knights’ quest, an extraordinary individual joins in – Lancelot, a Liones Knight and the son of Ban (former Seven Deadly Sins holy knight of Greed)

In general, Netflix has been the original home for the anime series as a franchise for several years now. This comes as proof given that it ran for five long seasons starting from a global release in 2015 and subsequently picking up the exclusive rights to Cursed of Light (2021) and Grudge of Edinburgh I and II (2023).
