Squid Game Season 2 Director Wants to Add Leonardo DiCaprio!

When is Squid Game Season 2 coming on Netflix? Let’s find out the details you need to know about the Netflix series.

After the roaring success of the Korean survival-slasher drama series in 2021, Squid Game managed to rule over Netflix screens globally. Thanks to the rave binge-watching, the series quickly dominated and topped the list as the ‘most watched show’ in the history of Netflix.

The series had fans crazing over it from all corners of the earth – so much so that famous Youtubers like MrBeast broke the record by recreating the show – and there are talks of a video game under development.

However, it’s the prospect of a Season 2 (which by the way, has been confirmed!) that has Squid Game fans overly excited. Unfortunately, we don’t have the dates confirmed but we know it’s supposed to be out sometime in 2024!

Here’s what we know so far!

It is but an obvious fact that Squid Game is not the same without Seong Gi-Hun – which means that Lee Jung-Jae will reprise the protagonist role.

In addition to this, Hwang In-Ho (portrayed by Lee Byeong-Heon), and Hwang Jun-ho (portrayed by Wi Ha Joon) are some of the actors confirmed for the second season.

The creator of the binge-watching series, Hwang Dong-hyuk suggested that he would ‘try something to bring back the dead characters in Squid Game Season 2’ as he apologized for killing the beloved ones.

Onto more interesting things however, eager fans are expecting to see an entirely different setup and lineup in Squid Game Season 2 – and although it is highly unlikely, the director has expressed interest in adding Leonardo DiCaprio to the series too!

As far as unfamiliar faces go, Squid Game Season 2 hopes to portray new actors that play a rather undetermined role, in addition to 8 new cast members in the show. We have our fingers crossed!

About Netflix

The much-anticipated Squid Game Season 2 has one pretty interesting development – and it’s not the new storyline or the addition of new characters.

It is all about Seong Gi Hun’s new hair – which makes a statement thanks to the fresh red color! S2 will also deal with the fallout of Gi-Hun choosing to stay in Korea rather than join his daughter in the US.

As viewers, we hope to see the second season throw some light onto the mysteries of the games, and more about the virtual men running the show ‘behind the curtain’.

More details will emerge as doubts start surfacing, questions being answered as the first trailers roll out in showbiz.

So keep your fingers crossed, reach out for popcorn, and brace yourself for excitement.
