The upcoming American dystopian science fiction action thriller movie ‘The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes’ is adapted from Suzanne Collins’ 2020 novel ‘The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes’ and serves as the prequel to the 2012 movie ‘The Hunger Games as well as the fifth installment of The Hunger Games movie series.
The plot of the upcoming movie is set sixty-four years before the events of the first movie and is centered upon a young Coriolanus Snow and his relationship with Lucy Gray Baird, a tribute, along with the events leading to his turning into the tyrannical leader of Panem.
When Is The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes Releasing?
The development of a spin-off of The Hunger Games film series was first announced in June 2019 by the chairman of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group. Blyth and Ziegler were cast as lead characters in the movie in May of 2022.
Filming ran from 11th July to 5th November 2022. The film is set to be released by Lionsgate Films on November 17, 2023.

Tom Blyth-
The role of the mentor for the upcoming 10th Hunger Games Coriolanus Snow, known as “Coryo”, who is the future President of Panem, will be portrayed by English actor Tom Blyth.
He is known for playing the lead and titular character William H. Bonney / Billy in the Western drama tv series ‘Billy the Kid’ in 2022.
Other than that Blyth was cast in the 2018 British coming-of-age feature film ‘Scott and Sid’ in the role of Sid. Then in 2021, he starred as an English actor and theatre director Glen Byam Shaw in the biographical romantic drama film ‘Benediction’.
Rachel Zegler-
The female lead of the movie Lucy Gray Baird who is a female tribute from District 12 will be portrayed by American actress Rachel Zegler in the upcoming movie.
Zegler’s feature film debut was through the 2021 musical romantic drama movie ‘West Side Story’ in which she played the main character of Maria. She also starred in 2023 in the American superhero movie ‘Shazam! Fury of the Gods’ in the role of Anthea / Anne.
Beside ‘The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes’, Zegler is also set to star in the upcoming movies ‘Snow White’ in which she will portray the titular character, ‘Spellbound‘, and ‘Y2K’.
Peter Dinklage-
As the Academy’s Dean and the intellectual author of Hunger Games Casca “Cas” Highbottom, we will see HBO‘s ‘Game of Thrones‘ famed Peter Dinklage.
Dinklage is widely and popularly known for portraying the beloved character of Tyrion Lannister in GOT for which he won worldwide recognition and critical acclaim for which he was nominated for eight Primetime Emmy awards for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series with three wins.

Josh Andrés Rivera-
A close friend of Coriolanus Sejanus Plinth, American actor Josh Andrés Rivera will star in the upcoming movie. Rivera was cast in the role of Chino in the musical romantic drama movie ‘West Side Story’.

For this role, Davis received three more Emmy nominations and one for her guest appearance in the political thriller series ‘Scandal’.
In 2016 Davis won Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Rose Lee Maxson in the period drama film ‘Fences’. She also received three other Academy Award nominations for starring in the films ‘Doubt’, ‘The Help’, and ‘Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom’.
