iPhone 15: Launch Date, Design, Camera Features, And More!

When it comes to Apple’s iPhone range for 2023, there’s a lot worth looking forward to! Indeed, leaks for the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Pro, and 15 Pro Max have begun in earnest, with experts and eagle-eyed fans sharing persistent rumors about everything from the devices’ display and camera features to their pricing and availability.

We’d also heard that an iPhone 15 Ultra might replace the Pro Max iPhone this year, but that rumor has since died.

iPhone 15 Release Date

Forbes

The past two iPhone generations were unveiled in September and were on sale shortly after. Nothing indicates that Apple will break out of its cycle in 2023.

We’d count on a September 2023 launch date for the iPhone 15 range, barring any unexpected issues or supply chain problems.

If Apple decides to shake things up and reveal a beefed-up 15 Ultra, it may do it at a different event. Based on our knowledge, a single announcement show appears most plausible.

Design

Apple

Among the design rumors is that all four 15 versions will have slightly curved edges, making the iPhone 15 seem more like the iPhone 11 (the iPhone 14 has a straight-sided aesthetic similar to the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13). The iPhone 15 & 15 Plus are reportedly getting a camera upgrade.

Another iPhone 14 Pro-level design element might become Apple’s next standard iPhone. Instead of its predecessor’s conventional glossy back panel, the standard 15 will come with an iPhone 14 Pro-style patterned matte glass rear panel.

The 15 will likely include a USB-C charging connector rather than the Lightning port seen on the iPhone 14 (which has been present on every iPhone since the iPhone 5).

The iPhone 15 devices will have the exact dimensions as the iPhone 14. Apple may be ready to switch to eSIM for the 15 in countries other than the US, with eSIMs coming to the next generation of Apple’s greatest iPhones in France.

The easily meme-able Dynamic Island (Apple’s fancy word for the screen cutout and its associated software upgrades) is the most significant change to the iPhone design in years.

Price

Apple

Initially, we anticipated the iPhone 15 to be priced similarly to the iPhone 14, with an estimated cost of $799 appearing reasonable.

Analysts have recently speculated that the 15 will cost higher than the iPhone 14 due to rising production expenses on Apple’s part. Price increases in international markets have occurred recently, as in last year’s iPhone 14 series.

The 15 is also believed to include a dual-sensor camera configuration. However, rumors suggest it will have the 48MP main sensor on the iPhone 14 Pro & iPhone 14 Pro Max instead of the 12MP main sensor on the standard iPhone 14.

The 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will receive significant camera enhancements in September, with one or both models anticipated to have periscope cameras and the most prominent iPhone camera sensors ever. The Pro Max/Ultra may also receive a telephoto camera with an adjustable zoom lens.

Colours

The Verge

Nothing has been confirmed regarding the colors, although there are rumors that the hex code for the color is 410D0D, and the term for this color code is Dark Sienna.

Although the color code is Dark Sienna, Apple may call the colorway something else. This color is also expected to be a Pro and Pro Max exclusive.

The same source claims that the base model and the Plus will be available in dark pink and light blue. It did, however, caution that these options might alter before the launch. There’s a chance these colors will be joined by more classic hues like white, silver, black, gold, and (PRODUCT)RED.
