Upcoming plot details of The Crown season 5 have been revealed and it seems the show will prove once again that the truth is stranger than fiction. From the moment Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced they would be stepping back from their roles as senior members of the Royal family, there’s been no end of the drama.

The couple has been accused of all sorts of things, from neglecting the Royal family to being full of themselves and, most controversially, of bullying staff during their time in the Palace.

Now, it seems that their real-life drama will be played out in the upcoming season of The Crown. According to a new report, the fifth season of the Netflix series will follow the couple’s decision to leave the Royal family. A source told The Sun, “Season five is going to be explosive.

“The writers have been working on this for almost two years and they’re really excited about it. “It will focus on Charles and Diana’s marriage, and the breakdown of that marriage “Harry and Meghan’s relationship will be explored as well as their life as working royals.

The Crown Season 5 will cover the years between 1997 and 2002 and will feature some of the most controversial moments in recent British history.

Fans can expect to see the fallout from the death of Princess Diana, the Millennium celebrations, and the Queen’s Golden Jubilee, as the royal family weathers a number of storms.

When will The Crown season 5 be released? Netflix has yet to confirm a release date for The Crown season 5, but fans are hopeful the show will return at some point this year.

Season four released on November 15, 2020, so if the show continues to drop at the same time of year, we can expect to see season five in November 2021. A source told The Sun last year that filming was due to begin in early 2021, so the cast should begin filming very soon.

There have been some changes in the cast of the series since the first season of the Crown.

In January 2020, it was announced that Imelda Staunton would be playing the Queen in the final two seasons of The Crown She will be taking over from Olivia Colman, who played the role between seasons three and four.
