Bowers & Wilkins PX8 Design, Pricing, Features, and More!

The Bowers & Wilkins Px8 will be a significant challenger for the best noise-canceling headphones from Sennheiser and Sony, thanks to their custom 40mm Carbon Cone drive units for an even more accurate sound throughout the whole frequency range and plush materials to further improve comfort.

You’ll want to stand out when wearing these headphones. Die-cast aluminum arms, diamond-cut brilliant metal detailing, and Nappa leather trim make up the whole design.

The supple leather undoubtedly contributed to comfort levels for the listener, and the plush headband and ear pads felt feather-light with only a tiny clamping force applied.

Do you think they will be heavy, given all the metal? In reality, weight is best for us. The Px8’s total weight is unquestionably no more than the 10.8 ounces listed for the Px7 S2, and they seemed lighter and more uniformly distributed than some other wireless headphones we’ve used.

Battery life

B&W has matched the Px7 with approximately 30 hours of battery life in terms of battery life. That’s more than a day’s worth of playback with ANC enabled, with a quick 15-minute recharge for up to seven hours of extra listening time if you run out.

Features

Digital Trends

The B&W Px8 noise canceling headphones feature the same Bowers & Wilkins noise canceling technology as the Px7 S2. In addition, six high-performance microphones collaborate to offer the best results, with two monitoring the output from each drive unit within the earcup, two reacting to outside noise, and two assisting in providing voice quality for calls while suppressing noise.

A wear sensor will pause your audio when you lift an ear cup and will put them to sleep after a certain period. They will immediately resume where you left off when you put them back on.

The Music App, like previously, facilitates the connection of the Px8 to a mobile device, provides fine-tuning of the sound with adjustable EQ, and allows users to choose their favorite noise-canceling mode and wearing sensor sensitivity, all while monitoring the charge levels of the headphone.

Connectivity

Bowers & Wilkins PX8

The Bowers & Wilkins Music App has been updated to coincide with the release of the Px8 to allow smooth wireless streaming from mobile playback devices and adjustable EQ, noise-canceling modes, and charge level displays.

Bluetooth 5.0 wireless connection is provided, and compatible playback devices can use the aptX Adaptive codec. The lack of aptX Lossless Audio compatibility is unfortunate, but there are USB-C and 3.5mm analog cable connectors, with cables included in the included headphone carry case.

Conclusion

These premium headphones appear to be rather promising. The design is spectacular, the noise cancellation is excellent, and the sound quality’s initial impressions are incredible.

Of course, the B&W Px8 is expensive for many people’s budgets at $699, but for those looking for premium all-rounders, they are worth considering.
