The first summary of the film was published in a Deadline Netflix 2021 film slate piece on January 12, 2021. Ant Ward declared the movie’s release date on March 30th, 2021, but promptly erased the post from Instagram for an unspecified reason.

The film was originally scheduled for the summer 2021 release; however, it was postponed. Andy Suriano confirmed the completion of filming on Instagram on April 7th, 2022, and Netflix revealed the film’s August 5th, 2022, release date on April 27th, 2022.
