Ozark season 4 Updates: As fans wait for Ozark’s highly anticipated return to Netflix with season four, many have speculated on what the plot may be. Viewers have hypothesized that Ruth Langmore (Julia Garner) would finally come up about her unusual connection with her father Cade Langmore in the upcoming season (Trevor Long).
Ruth was initially introduced to fans in season one when Marty Byrde (Jason Bateman) recruited her assistance in laundering money for the Mexican cartel. He believed her expertise and experience would come in helpful because she was an Ozark native with a criminal heritage.
Throughout the series, she disclosed that her father, Cade, had been involved with police enforcement since she was a youngster and was in jail when the episode premiered.
When he was freed from jail and attempting to reintegrate into his life with his daughter, however, fans noticed some strange aspects of their connection. Cade has killed off abruptly in the season two finale when Wendy Byrde (Laura Linney) had had enough of his antics and gave him $500,000 to escape the Ozarks.
Wendy, unbeknownst to him, had set him up and given him cartel money, putting him in the crosshairs of a hitman posing as a motorist.

Ruth went to the morgue to see her father’s body in the last moments of the show, and what she did next made viewers doubt their connection. Ruth kissed her father on the lips for an unpleasant period of time while his body was put on the table.
Ruth had a tense relationship with her uncles, and she didn’t hesitate to murder them when she thought they were in on the money laundering plan she was participating in. Ruth and her cousin Wyatt Langmore (Charlie Tahan), who was upset that she killed his father, had a significant and catastrophic breach as a result of this.
Ruth left Marty and joined forces with Darlene in Season 3 when he failed to protect her from Frank Cosgrove Jr (Joseph Sikora), who attacked her.
Darlene shot him in the genitals and took Ruth in when she found out; supporters speculate that she is now working against Marty, as Darlene is his adversary. This may also imply Ruth and Wyatt reuniting and rekindling their friendship, which could lead to a discussion regarding Cade.
Viewers will have to wait until season four to find out if this idea is correct and if the evidence point to a darker past between Ruth and Cade.
