Harrison Ford Updates: Harrison Ford’s Star Wars character Han Solo has become one of the most beloved characters in the franchise. This article breaks down the total earnings of Harrison Ford from playing Han Solo.

Harrison Ford is without any doubt one of the most well-known actors of his generation. He has appeared in major film franchises like Indiana Jones, Blade Runner, and Star Wars. Star Wars comes second in the list of most financially successful franchises. The fifteen films in the franchise have collectively earned $10.32 billion at the Box office worldwide.

Han Solo, Harrison Ford’s character in the Star Wars franchise is one of the most beloved characters in the franchise. Harrison Ford’s portrayal of the character is surely one of the reasons behind the huge financial success of the franchise. However, the question arises of whether Ford was compensated for his contributions. Being one of the richest stars with a net worth of around $300 million, the majority of Ford’s money did not come from the Star Wars franchise but rather his other major franchise Indiana Jones.

Ford’s Han Solo has appeared in seven of the fifteen films of the Star Wars franchise. He debuted in the first Star Wars film Star Wars: A New Hope. He also appeared as a lead character in the next two Star War films The Empire Strikes Back and The Return of the Jedi.

His next Star Wars film came thirty years later with the film The Force Awakens. He also cameoed in the most recent Star Wars film, The Rise of Skywalker. He appeared in two Star Wars specials: The Star Wars Holiday Special and Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Here’s how much Ford earned for each of his Star Wars films:

  1. Star Wars: Episode IV: A New Hope

Harrison Ford debuted in the franchise with this film. He reportedly got $10,000 for his role which might appear too measly for his standard but we need to keep in mind that at the time he was a mere struggling actor.

2. Star Wars: Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back

While the film made over $500 million at the Box office, Ford earned $100,000 for his role. It is surely ten times what he got for the first film, but it still seems less compared to the film’s total earning.

3. Star Wars: Episode VI: Return of the Jedi

Harrison Ford got a pay raise yet again for the third and final Star Wars film in the original Star Wars trilogy. He earned $500,000 for this film which is five times the amount he earned for the first Star Wars film.

4. Star Wars: Episode VII: The Force Awakens

Harrison Ford returned to the Star Wars franchise after thirty years. For his appearance in the film, the actor got a base salary of $15 million and also a part of the film’s earnings which makes his total earnings from the film $25 million.

5. Star Wars: Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker

It’s unclear how much Ford earned for the film since it was just a cameo. His character did not initially intend to appear in the film but director J.J. Abrams asked him to appear in the movie after Carrie Fisher’s death affected the story of the film.

6. The Star Wars Holiday Special

It’s unclear how much Ford earned for this movie but judging by the fact that this film came out shortly after the first Star Wars film for which he earned $10,000, he couldn’t have earned much for this film either.

7. Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Harrison Ford gave his voice for this game. While it is possible that the actor got a hefty amount for his voice acting, it is also possible that the contract for the game was a part of the film The Force Awakens and his salary for the film was included in his part in the game.
