Final Fantasy 7 Remake Updates: Final Fantasy 7 Remake Trace of Two Pasts novel has confirmed that the FF7 Remake will go to Junon, the Cargo Ship, and Costa Del Sol. The FF7 Remake series had an ending that left the characters out of the events from the original game.
This ending meant that the Remake novel can make the characters go to Costa Del Sol. The DLC ended with the members left Midgar and shows them hitchhiking to Kalm. There are no reports that suggest the new journey will be any different from the previous ones as well.
Although, it seems that the sequel is going to start with some flashbacks from Kalm. It will explain the history between Cloud and Sephiroth, then will move on to the Chocobo Farm.

It although turns out that there is more to the story than anyone had expected and that there is more content than we had thought earlier. According to the user, the mainframe of the novel involves Aerith and Tifa talking about the Cargo ship, after wearing Shinra uniforms and sneaking onto it.
This confirms their departure from Kalm and visiting other mentioned locations. This allows the FF7 Remake to make up stories of their own and not build upon stories that were already told and developers can emphasize and establish new stories as well as brush up on the events that had happened in the previous installments.
