Rick and Morty Season 5 Dan Harmon Teams with Apple on Strange Planet Series

Rick and Morty Season 5 Updates: Dan Harmon, the creator of “Rick and Morty,” is joining up with Nathan Pyle, the author of the popular “Strange Planet” comics, for an animated series adaptation. Apple Studios and award-winning anime studio and production firm Shadow Machine collaborated on “Strange Planet.”

Apple TV+ offers a modest but increasing animated series lineup, with “Strange Planet” being the streaming service’s second adult-animated series, following “Central Park”.

Harmon is best known for creating and executive producing “Community,” which aired on NBC from 2009 to 2014 for five seasons and a sixth season on the now-defunct Yahoo! Screen in 2015. He’s also a co-creator and executive producer on Adult Swim’s “Rick & Morty,” which just finished its fifth season and won Emmys for Outstanding Animated Program in 2018 and 2020.

The program will tell fascinating and moving stories about beings from a faraway world similar to our own. Strange Planet is co-produced by Apple Studios and ShadowMachine, an award-winning animation studio and production firm known for films such as BoJack Horseman.
