Rick and Morty Season 5 Updates: On Adult Swim, Rick and Morty’s fifth season will be returning in Fall for a one-hour long special finale while currently being in the midst of a hiatus for the remaining Summer. The fans have been eagerly hoping to make connections from the fifth season to the overall franchise.
Episode 8 with Rick’s past explored along with Birdperson is what started this but since the beginning, invisible threads have tied each notable character’s adventures together.
Morty is seen using Rick’s portal gun without letting Rick know or asking his permission and Morty then gets caught by Rick in Season 5 which is one of the major teases in the finale episode of an hour. But Morty surprises everyone and acts out of his character by fighting back and angrily asking to be replaced instead of trying to be in Rick’s good book in the past seasons by asking for forgiveness profusely.
“What’s Rick without Morty?” is then asked by the voice-over when the promo goes further ahead. This new and interesting take on the question is what hints towards the origin of Evil Morty. But would we see it? Or not?

Rick and Morty Season 5: Evil Morty

Daily Express
There have been so many episodes throughout which we have seen many examples of Rick defining himself without Morty in it but this notion is much more prominent now with the revelation of Rick’s original Beth being already dead technically. In Episode 8 of Season 5.
Nocturnal Friendshine of the Spotless Mort, it is revealed that Morty is a hypothetical grandson with which he has had all those adventures with which is explained by one Rick to another Rick and he is basically living with their dead daughter’s abandoned adult version.
Rick starts to open himself up more to the other members of his family and Morty starts to take more of a hard line against the shenanigans of Rick which is due to Rick and Morty separating more from each other at the beginning of Rick and Morty season 5. This is what started the fan theories whether or not they will see the origin story of Evil Morty as they saw the series plant seeds of the same.
Season 5 may have huge surprises for us all with an episode hinting at the idea of decoys and red herrings, with Morty separating from Rick by going on dates with Planetina and Jessica, going on joy rides with Bruce Chutback and a Rick who is more vulnerable. So be there to watch the finale on Adult Swim on 5th September, Sunday at 11:00 PM.
