The fifth season will be releasing in the second half of 2021.

According to a recent letter to shareholders, Netflix also mentioned the infamous series is set to stream on the platform in the second half of 2021. Despite the news, many Money Heist fans were disheartened. As the previous season concluded in April 2020 many were in hopes that the new series would follow the release pattern and air this spring. With the confirmation from Netflix about the release coming later in the year, fans will have to keep a hold of their excitement.

Money Heist Season 5 Release Date

Money Heist Season 5 filming is still underway, so fans have to wait a few more months for the new season to arrive. Season four was released eight months after August 2019, so fans could be waiting until November 2021.

Money Heist fans have been sharing their anger about the show’s delay on social media. One fan even tweeted stating: “I just wanna watch season 5 of money heist already, that’s all, why is life so unfair.”

What’s new in Season 5 of Money Heist?

Season four of Money Heist ended with Raquel/Lisbon reunited with the rest of the gang. Lisbon was rescued via a tunnel and then sent straight back to the Bank of Spain. Meanwhile, Inspector Alicia uncovers the Professor’s hideout, and fans bid farewell to Nairobi after she was shot dead by their hostage Gandia. Unfortunately, Money Heist series five will be the final ever series and the fans are both excited and disheartened by this news.

Álex Pina teased what the final series has to offer stating: “We’ve spent almost a year thinking about how to break up the band”. She also gave us a hint of what is to come by saying “The war reaches the most extreme levels, but it is also the most epic and exciting season. Thankfully, Pina didn’t cancel the possibility of any possible spin-offs in the future.
